How did I end up here? If you ask my dear friend Sarah, she'll tell you we went in to buy bridesmaid dresses and I ended up buying the whole shop!
After being behind the scenes as a Tax Accountant, I was yearning for a customer service job. After I saw the shop for sale, within 6 weeks I'd quit my job and jumped in the deep end feet first. 11 years, 3 kids & 1 relocation move later; I'm still here without a single regret. My passion lies within bringing your visions to life, even if you don't know what that is yet. It feels like a jigsaw puzzle putting the pieces together, because everyone has such a different personal style and body shape. I love the whole process from choosing the one, making all the right tweaks in alterations & I even get a little sad when you leave with your dress; it's like my babies are growing up and moving out! My Sunday mornings are usually spent stalking all the socials to see everyone's sneak peeks and see that end vision as a reality ❤️ |
Sam is Our Senior stylist/TikTok extraordinaire/chief caffeinator/music ambiance director. She's also my right hand on most days and I'd be lost without her.
She relocated to Shepparton almost 2 years ago and will soon celebrate her 2-year workiversary here. I fell in love with Sam before I even finished reading her cover letter. I had to contain my excitement and had try my best not to hire her before she even started her interview. We share a lot things common - including a love for Grey's anatomy, I have to try me best to stop spoiling all the good bits. The best part is getting to roast all the characters we hate. Sam is an avid coffee drinker - although she drinks a long black which shouts serial killer tendencies to me. But hey, we are all allowed a red flag once in a while. Sam is an absolute sucker for the less is more vibe, her favourite dress being #7731 by Stella York. If you were a fly on the wall in here, you'd see nothing but laughter & you'd be running to the toilet before you wet your pants because she's actually that funny. |
Once a junior, now a regular Bridal & Debutante stylist.
Mikayla shopped in store with us many years ago for her debutante gown. Trying dresses on; mid dress I asked her to send in her resume because I just knew she was right for the job. When the week of her deb finally rolled around - all tanned, lashed up and ready to go, big fat covid stepped in; she missed out due to lock downs not once but twice with only days to go! Mikayla works Saturdays with us and most holiday periods when I can snag her from her weekday teaching assistant gig. Mikayla is very prone to bumps and bruises because when she's not here, she's out riding motorbikes and being a general daredevil. When I asked her what favourite dress was - she was torn between two! The first being North by All Who Wander and the second #7194 by the fabulous Stella York. You'll also be hard pressed to find her here without Dempsey in her arms. |
Viv is our full time seamstress who makes all the magic happen behind the scenes. Although she tells us that she's 21 all the time, she has been in sewing industry for over 50 years!
Viv has a solution for (almost) anything and legitimately can make the impossible a reality. Pure Magician! We also like to refer to her as our sleeve wiz - Viv's favourite thing to do is make the perfect custom sleeves to go with any dress you desire! When she's not here tearing up the sewing out the back, Viv's more than likely at home having a cheeky beer, getting out in the garden at her holiday house by the beach or dreaming about cashmere goats. For the last 11 years she has cuddled my babies, put them to sleep, told me off for my creative bustle ideas and right now she probably thinks she's got me trained just the way she wants me. She also flat out refused to let me take her photo for this - so this is why everyone now has two photos haha |
Our resident pin finder. Not quite sure what her official job description is, but Dempsey has been coming into the workplace since she was two days old. I would have come past on the way home from the hospital, but I wasn't driving so the detour wasn't allowed.
She has a very mischievous smile and will most likely pop in your fitting room to be a sticky nose - I think she knows that's where all the magic happens. She'll also play peek-a-boo with the curtain and giggle so much you can't tell if she's crying or laughing! All three of my children have grown up coming to work with me on the daily and it's been one of the highlights of owning a business. Before I know it she'll be off to daycare and I will miss all the days she's at my feet and jabbing me with pins! |
